Cajun Shrimp ****
Servings: 4
3 tbsp butter
4 tbs olive oil
1 medium onion, halved, peeled, and sliced
2 tsp garlic, minced
1 tsp thyme, dried
1 tsp rosemary, dried
1 tps pepper, ground black
1/2 tsp cayenne powder
2 tsp paprika
1 pound shrimp, jumbo, uncooked, deveined, with shell-on, defrosted
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup wine, Sauvignon blanc
2 tbsp lemon juice, fresh squeezed

# heat the butter and oil over low heat in a large pan
# put thyme, rosemary, pepper, cayenne, and paprika in a small prep bowl.
# When the butter has melted, add the onions and cook for 10 minutes over medium heat.
# When the onions are golden and softened,
# stir in the garlic.
# After a minute add the spices and the shrimp
# cook over medium heat.
# Stir often for 5 minutes,
# when the shrimp are almost cooked through, add the Worcestershire sauce, wine, and lemon juice.
# cook for another minute or two and serve over cooked rice or with very crusty bread.
