Turmeric Rice ****
Servings: 4-8
2 cups basmati rice
3 cups water
3 tbsp vegetable oil
3 whole cloves (or 1/8 tsp ground clove)
1 bay leaf
4 green cardamon pods
1 inch stick of cinnamon
2-8 cloves garlic, skinned, finely chopped
1/4 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp sliced chives or green onion greens
+ turn on rice cooker to the cook setting
+ add oil
+ when oil is hot add garlic, clove, bay leaf, pods and cinnamon
+ as soon as garlic starts to brown add rice, water, salt, turmeric and chives/green onions
= will keep for a week in the magic cold place
= serve with other dishes or on its own as a snack
= 1/4 cup is 100 calories
