How to know you are in the early 21st century.

A = One weeks worth of Phil Hendrie mp3's for my mp3 player that I can listen to on my chore day.
B = For my palm I have this one. Most of what is on it is obscene amounts of public domain books from Project Gutenberg.
C = One gig of mp3's for when NPR isn't coming in clearly.
D = One Wifi card for my palm. This thing kills the batteries which is why I built a portable charger for my palm.

This doesn't include the 4 flash cards I have for my camera or the MMC card I will eventually buy for my phone.

Anyplace I go I carry my camera, mp3 player, palm, and phone.

Which means that every where I go I carry 3 digital cameras, 2 voice recorders 3 mp3 players and two FM radios.

I also carry one portable palm charger, 8 AAA, 8 AA and one 9V rechargable batteries to keep me going through the day.

One day we will have a wifi inabled smart phone with 20 gig of internal memory, AM/FM, mp3 player, with an onboard 6 Mega-pixal camera that is solar powered with a fold out full sized keyboard.

Did I mention I do carry a fold out full sized keyboard for my palm?
